There are many ways to get involved with the Institute for Data Science. Why don’t you come to one of our public events listed on the first page? We are happy to meeting you.
Are you a software engineer interested in working at the Institute for Data Science in Windisch? Ask André Csillaghy about current job openings.
Post-Doctoral Researcher as Computer Scientist / Data Scientist (m/f)
You will work for the Euclid project, an ESA mission that will launch in 2021 and will explore the physics of dark matter and dark energy. You will study and implement algorithms and frameworks that allow for efficient execution and scheduling of algorithms with constrained computing resources at given processing sites.
For computer science students interested in space sciences, the following semester projects have some astroinformatics or heliophysics content:
- Solar Flare Prediction (Machine Learning)
- Timeline Solar Activity for Heliohiewer.org
- Video Streaming for JHelioviewer
- Euclid Pipelines Powered By Luigi
We regularly offer internships for international students through IAESTE. Check out their website for current opportunities.
Currently, all internship positions are full. Check back soon.
The Institute for Data Science offers apprenticeships in software development. Apprentices have the opportunity to work on international research projects.
Volunteers with or without a scientific background may participate in our research projects as citizen scientists. Engagement is possible at different levels of complexity – from quite simple to really challenging. Current citizen science projects are listed on raumschiff.org
We love to engage with people of any background. We offer Ferienplausch activities, workshops, talks and discussions, and are happy to co-operate with other organizations to carry out exciting public projects. Some of are activities are developed, and take place, at Raumschiff – the Maker-Space for Astronomy.
